For Nathan’s birthday, we went to New York City. Since Nathan and Hannah live. In White Plains, this was easy for them. We stayed in mid-town at a new Kimpton. It was very new and nice but also very small. Funny story was during check-in, Lynn lost her mind and asked for a view of the Eiffel Tower. Nathan nearly fainted due to the embarrassment. We joked about that all weekend.
Lynn and I started at Mary and Paul’s. We visited, went to dinner and then watched the Lions football game. Dinner was at The Old ‘76 House. It dates back to the do founding fathers of the USA. It was very nice.
the first day we toured the Tenement Museum. The way people lived in the 1850 to 1900’s was tough. The buildings were 5 stories high. Water and toilets were on the ground floor. They units were very small. Proximity to church and work were top requirements. Dinner wa s at Roscioli in SOHO. We had a great table in an old wine cellar.
The next morning, the guys went for a run in Central Park. It was very crowded and felt like an event. Turns out it’s a typical Saturday. Then we had lunch at the Chelsea Market. Mary and Paul joined us for an Architecture Boat tour that everyone loved. And then dinner was at a Mediterranean restaurant. It was nice but crazy loud.
Since Nathan and Hannah are talking about moving, this was probably the last NYC trip for a while. Great weekend!
