Paris Day 3

I (Lynn) can write today’s Blog since Bob did not wear us out as much. 🙂 Usually by now, Nathan and I are sound asleep due to Bob’s ten hour tour days, but tonight, I have enough energy to write.

We have begun to tease Bob about his Barnes and Noble tour book he carries around with him and reads to us every inch of the way (Nathan calls it “Papa’s livre).

Today was Notre Dame Cathedral, the Deportation Memorial, St. Michael’s, and the Latin Quarter. Notre Dame’s architecture, stain glassed windows, and vast size was amazing, not to mention the statues and history of Joan of Arc and “headless” Saint Dennis. We lit a candle for Aunt Laura, hoping she knew what was in our hearts. Nathan and I wrote our own heartfelt prayers on postcards and placed in glass-enclosed bins in hopes that they would be read at one of the services held at the Cathedral.

Our favorite was Latin Quarter! The shops, narrow streets, and open air, yet overhead heated cafes, were like nothing we have seen before. Nathan enjoyed another warm chocolate crepe, but Bob and I passed since we just had dinner.

Our French (and confidence is growing each day), and by the time we must fly back to the U.S., we will have adjusted to the time difference. Tomorrow is our day trip to Versailles, and according to “Papa Livre”, Nathan and I must be up and out early since there is much to see!

Bonsoir,
The LeRoi’s

  2. Hi
I’m enjoying your blog and the pictures. Lucy is doing great. We can keep her longer if you want to stay in Paris for a couple of months 🙂 Did Nathan shoot a hare? Nice hat!
