Glacier National Park — Montana Day 3

The Herns and Horton’s continue to out do themselves.  This morning they had a lovely brunch for all the guests.  And this evening they are planning a small get together too.

During the day, Lynn and I took am awesome drive across Glacier National Park.  It’s called “The Road to the Sun”.  The entire trip took most of the day.  The drive up to Logan’s pass is very steep with sharp drop offs the whole way.  Lynn doesn’t like heights and this didn’t make her very comfortable at all.  Once we arrived at the top, it was very cool and cloudy. In fact, the clods prevented us from enjoying the view.  We quickly packed up to continue on.  Less than half a mile more, the clouds cleared and we were treated to a spectacular view.

The drive down took us to St Mary’s Lake and we thought we’d be back to West Glacier and our lodge in an hour.  Nope, it took over two hours.  So, we stopped in East Glacier to enjoy a late lunch at the World Famous “Whistle Stop”.  We were told to stop there because they had the best pie.
