Weekend in Cincinnati

We were home for a long weekend in Cincinnati.  It’s great to be back in town and amazing how comfortable it feels to be here.  We had a very full weekend of activities but the best part was just visiting with our best friends.

Our flight (Bob, Lynn and Sabrina) from Florida landed at 4:00.  We did a quick check in to the Sonesta ES hotel in Blue Ash.  It’s super nice.  I think it must have been remodeled recently.  The room was spotless.  It has a nice pool area with a cool volleyball court and corn hole game. It’s like an efficiency apartment with a nice kitchen, sitting area and bed.

The first stop was the Oppelt’s to pick up our mail.  We had some things (like checks, etc.) forwarded to their house.  We ordered take out Montgomery Inn ribs for dinner.  As always, Barry made Manhattans and we got to visit and catch up.  Of course, all Barry wanted to do is complain that I cheat at Words-With-Friends.

The next day was full of activity with workouts, Sabrina vet visit, and a trip to the Curry’s to swap clothes for the next leg of our adventure.  We love visiting the Curry’s.  Barb and Gene are such wonderful people.  We got to sit by the pool and just visit and tell stories about all the crazy things happening right now.

Sunday started with church.  We truly belong there.  Afterwards, we went to Melissa’s for a BBQ and celebrate Matthew’s birthday.  The weather was hot and sunny; normal Labor Day weather.  Matthew cooked up some very tasty burgers.  We had cake and played corn hole.  Jorden was there, and Lynn and I took him back to the hotel with us.  It was great to visit with him.  He’s super smart and fun to hang with.  And, he’s exhausting.

Monday is a day of getting ready to leave again.  It’s a lot of work to make sure you have everything you need for two weeks in Europe.  We took Jorden back to his Mom’s and Sabrina went to Sydney’s for three weeks.

Now we head off for another adventure.  Bon Voyage!
