Yes, we got up way too early for a flight to Bordeaux. The idea was to get there early we could grab some lunch and tour the city. Instead, because we were both exhausted, we ate a late breakfast at the hotel and then rested a couple hours.
After a bit of discussion, we agreed to take the bus tour of the city. It started off great! And then it started to rain. And, not just a little rain; it really poured buckets. Thankfully, the company gave us ponchos to wear. I sat at the window seat and without that poncho, I would have been soaked to the core. The city is very nice with great history and excellent wine.We walked around town for a while until we came upon a small square with lots of restaurants. We both agreed, after the late fancy dinner last night, that going casual was a good idea. Pizza was perfect for Sunday evening.
During dinner, we discovered a couple next to us from California. They were on their 25th anniversary trip. It’s amazing how many people you meet from America. And, they all have great stories.
