Last Day in Paris

We’re SO ready to get home.  Actually, it’s Lynn who’s ready.  I could stay longer.

I had one meeting today and several expected people declined the appointment so I cancelled the whole thing. So, I had the day off.

We finally had breakfast together for the first time since we arrived in Europe.  It was a great, classic European breakfast; runny eggs, under-cooked bacon, croissants, juice and LOTS of coffee.  Lynn likes those breakfasts better than I do.

In Barcelona, we discovered we both like the hop-on, hop-off buses.  So we signed up for that today too.  We grabbed a cab over to the Eiffel Tower to catch the bus.  They’ve added lots of security to the Eiffel Tower.  You can’t just walk under it and take a picture anymore.  They have a big gate surrounding the entire structure.  It’s a bit sad to see but we understand why.

The bus was a very nice ride.  We took the north/blue tour which went past Sacre-Coeur Cathederal (looked awesome), Molin Rouge, and other famous places.  Paris is a huge city and you don’t realize it until you tour around like this.

We walked through lots of shops.  They have some very high-end shops.  The Louis Vuitton store screens people on the way in.  And, the cheap purses are 4,000.  It was cool to see but Lynn and I drifted towards the more reasonable places for gifts; sorry guys.

After lots of walking around, we stopped for an early dinner in the Latin Quarter.  We had something called a “Parade of Beef”.  This is where they bring you raw meat and a hot “stone” with a flame below it.  You then cook the meat on this stone.  It was actually very cool.  And, we had way too much food.  Of course, we’re still only eating twice a day.

We finally got back to the hotel at 8:00.  That gives us about an hour to sit outside and talk about our day.  It was a good trip and this was a perfect day to finish the trip.

Now it’s time to go pack for the trip home.  We have to leave the hotel at 7:00am.

See you soon!
